Apistogramma Macmasteri

Description

Also known as the ‘’Redneck’’, the Apistogramma Macmasteri originates from Meta river system as part of the Orinoco Basin in Colombia. Their stunning coloration, tiny size and big temperament makes them stand out from other cichlids. Found in areas with soft sandy bottom and a lot of driftwood or dead roots and branches, so an aquarium with similar conditions would be best for them. Make sure that the substrate is soft, as this fish likes to dig a lot.

The best tank mates for the macmasteri are small and peaceful fish like Neon tetras, pigmy corys, gouramis, danios or otocinclus catfish, etc.

• Temperature: 22 to 29 degrees Celsius
• PH: 5.0 to 6.8
• KH: 2 to 15 dKH
• Minimum tank size: 45 liters
