Wild Peruensis Angel string come originally from Rio – Nanay region, in the Peru side of the Amazon. The Peruensis is an uncommon variant of the classic angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) from the cichlid family, having a very tall and thin body. This angelfish likes a heavily planted tank with rock formations and drift wood and a very gentle water flow allowing it to shoal. Although this fish is not very shy, he loves the cover of tall plants. In community tanks he is compatible with peaceful fish, but can be territorial during spawning season.
To keep a pair we recommend a tank size of 120-150 liters, but because of the tall body shape, the height of the tank must be taken in consideration.
Recommended tank parameters:
- Temperature: 26 to 30 degrees Celsius
- PH: 6.0 to 8.5
- KH: 0 to 15 KH
- minimum tank size: 60 to 70 Liters
